Interest in the Electric Vehicle Sponsorship Scheme is particularly high, as shown by the data of the first week, which proves that citizens recognize the benefits of electromobility and the importance of the wider transition to green transport and sustainable mobility.
The first phase of the Plan was implemented on Monday, December 20, 2021, and will be completed on Monday, January 3, 2022, with a budget of €8 million. So far, a total of 4,269 applications have been submitted, which have exceeded the number of approvals to be given under phase A for most vehicle categories.
Sponsorships are currently available for the following categories:
• Used electric vehicle - taxi
• Used electric vehicle - disabled
• Electric Mopeds – Electric Motorcycles
More specifically, applications have been submitted as follows:
It is reminded that the amounts that will be allocated for the purchase of a new electric vehicle range from €9,000 to €19,000, while the sponsorship amounts for the purchase of a used electric vehicle start from €4,000 and reach €12,000.
In addition, the applicant may, if he/she so wishes, withdraw an old vehicle, older than 12 years, and receive an additional sponsorship of €1,000. The additional amount of €1,000 is granted both in the case of the purchase of a new and in the case of the purchase of a used electric vehicle.
Finally, it should be noted that, if the application is pre-approved, the beneficiary has two months to provide proof of order of the new / used electric vehicle and 12 months to register the electric vehicle. Sponsorship is given upon registration of the vehicle, within 12 months of final approval.
